In my studio, color and landscape share an intimate bond.

During the painting process, color becomes the language through which landscapes speak. In chromavista my goal is to capture the moods, rhythms, and energies of the surrounding landscape using high-vibrational color and texture. The compositions begin with an abstract explosion of neon color. I use palette knives and texture gels to build up a strata of layers, sometimes slicing through and scraping away in order to achieve a natural erosion. The painting evolves through a course of destruction and discovery. Colors are more than just pigments on my palette; they are the language through which I converse with the landscapes I depict. chromavista invites viewers to share in this wanderlust, to experience the cross-inspiration between chroma and the natural world.
